We will feature common and hard to find native plants of California’s North Coast, as well as native species from California’s extensive coastal ecosystem mosaic.
As field scientists, our approach to propagation and restoration is from a living landscapes perspective, with the physical and geomorphic foundations of the bioregion at the core of our planning and efforts.
At Wave Cut Ranch we employ ecological gardening and landscaping practices, such as: no-till farming; on-site soil and mulch production (to eliminate hauling and delivery emissions, and to develop soil health by protecting and encouraging native microbial communities); no pesticide or herbicide use; measures to encourage and support wildlife at all trophic levels; a commitment to reuse, to recycle, and little to no plastic use at the nursery.
